The University of Maryland’s SNDA chapter has been named chapter of the year for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The University of Maryland’s SNDA chapter is proud to be named chapter of the year for the 2008-2009 academic year. This recognition has come with hard work, perseverance, and dedication from our past executive board and president Anthony Carter. I am proud to have served under his leadership to learn the true effort it takes for national success. UM-SNDA since its founding has had a strong presence in the Baltimore city community working with various organizations such as: MDS, SNMA, UMB Outreach, Healthy Start, The Maryland’s Children’s Oral Health Institute, the Baltimore City Health Department, and many more.

We continuously strive to fulfill the SNDA mission of serving underserved populations and increasing enrollment and retention of underrepresented minority students. During my tenure as president I hope to provide new and exciting programming for the chapter, increase membership, provide team building activities, and strengthen our community service core. New programming that will be implemented this year for Maryland is a New Members Induction Ceremony as well as Lunch N’ Learns. The Lunch N’ Learns will focus on providing information to working in underserved populations, as well as improving access to care.
